Knowledge mobilization (KMb) is based on good planning. Because KMb is focused on getting information out into the world, it’s important to understand upfront what’s being generated and how it is to be used. Furthermore, since knowledge mobilization may be constrained in some EL opportunities, identifying any restrictions or limitations is also essential early on so that any knowledge mobilization can work within those constraints.

Although all EL may not be bound by legal and professional guidelines, recognizing the students may be privileged and might be doing work that engages with sensitive topics and people is also important. In these situations, it can be useful to identify ways that students can be prompted to treat these experience and the knowledge that comes from them with respect.
